Kathy de Cano has expressed herself visually since she was very young. Most of her work is done with mixed media or acrylics, her styles ranging from abstract to expressionistic to impressionistic. She has also participated in several mural projects. Her many travels are a large influence on her work, as well as her love of nature, textures, and color. Kathy is a member of the North Gwinnett Arts Association in Suwanee, Georgia, and the Norcross Gallery and Artist Studios in Norcross, Georgia. She exhibits at Expressions Fine Art Gallery and Artist Studios in Lawrenceville, Georgia, where she has her studio. Her work has been in shows in Bryson City, North Carolina, and Sandy Springs, Suwanee, Johns Creek, Sugar Hill, Lawrenceville, and Norcross, all in Georgia. In February of 2020, she was the featured artist at the Suwanee Arts Center in Suwanee, Georgia, where she resides.
She had this to say about her art: My hope is that my art will bring joy or reflective thoughtfulness to those who see it. I paint with a great deal of love and passion, infusing my heart and my spirit into each piece, and my work continues to be a source of personal expression as well as deep learning for me. My journey has been marked by it, from my first scribblings as a small child to the drawings and paintings that I have been inspired to do throughout most of my life.
April Diallo specializes in still & aerial photography. She captures natural elements in urban settings - from graceful trees to towering skyscrapers, to produce art for any space.
Savannah Georgia, in her opinion, is one of the most picturesque places in the country, both for its architecture, but also for its ambience. Much of the vibe is due to wrought iron, cobblestone streets, and the iconic Spanish Moss hanging from the oak trees through the region. While the moss provides an ecosystem of its own, it's often a supporting character in the photos taken of Savannah.
In her photo series called Living Chandeliers, She put the spotlight on the moss and the creepy, spooky, beautiful ambience it provides. Included in the collection is a photo of the Candler Oak tree, which is estimated to be between 300 and 400 years old.
If you find yourself in Savannah in the future, She'd advise you to steer clear of the moss - you may not appreciate an ecosystem in your pocket!
